Collaberation - Couch and Remington

This is an I.R. image shot by my buddy, Bruce Couch, and I processed the raw image. You can see Bruce's work here: www.flickr.com/photos/bodiegroup/
I have done several of these collaborations before for other artist, and find it enjoyable exploring someone else's art and putting my twist to it. Hoping everyone has a joyous holiday season. Cheers!

Multnomah Falls, Oregon - iphone pano

Hard to believe you can make a great photo from a camera phone. But welcome to the modern world. I stitched many photos from this scene right in my phone from an APP called, Auto stitch.

New flickr sucks!

Let me first say what I do like about the new flickr. Black background. Finally!!! A larger buddy icon. Great! I will update that soon. Everything else? Very bad decisions were made and they are screwing the Professionals here. The fact that my organized sets were clearly visible on the right made it easy for my viewers and clients to see the different categories and subjects of my photographs. I spent allot of time revamping that and after I did I got more hits on my photographs.
I really liked having a stream of individual photos one on top of each other rather than a messy and slow wall of all my photos. It is a poor choice.

The navigation is now as bad as the new itunes. I can't help but wonder if Yahoo hired the same folks? It's harder now to send someone a flickr mail.

Now seeing someone's comments is much more difficult. You have to scroll down more and flickr hides much of the comments and you have to open that up. Lame.

The vast majority of flickr beta testers said they hated it but talking heads high-up ignored that fact and still went through this crappy version of flickr regardless. Makes you wonder if they have our interest at heart?
I can go on and on but express yourselves here!

Sunrise, Kata Tjuta, Australia.

When I first got here in the pre-dawn light, there was no one. Then suddenly the tourist buses started pulling in. I ran up to the viewing platform but there was a mob chasing me like zombies wanting to eat my flesh. I looked all around me for escape but I had only one choice, jump the fence! Off I went a over a kilometer off-trail, and just in time for the light. Oh and yes. Those innocent "grasses" called spinifex. Well at their lower levels are needles that will turn a bloke into a pin cushion in real time!

Inside Kata Tjuta - Australia

"Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher." - William Wordsworth

There is no way this photo (even when viewed large) can do justice to the enormity and energy this sacred place exudes. What looks like to be tiny bushes down below are full grown trees much taller than a man. I was lucky enough to be able to hike through these enormous rock formations. The spiritual energy here is quite profound a well. Kata Tjuta for many is equally or more impressive of a place than Uluru (Ayers Rock).

El Dorado IPA

Just kegged my single hop IPA: El Dorado. This is quite the peculiar hop. Tropical fruit, watermelon, cherry, citrus, grass etc. I would say this is a great hop to blend with others such as Citra, Amarillo, Simcoe, CTZ, - rather than a single hop brew to be honest. But quite good in general!

Lake Taupo panorama - New Zealand

Lake Taupo is the largest fresh water lake in all of Australasia. This panorama is way too large to be properly viewed and enjoyed on flickr. I plan to make a very large metal print of it soon. View largest size. I still had to dramatically shrink it down for web.

Cheers!

Larapinta Sunstar

I camped near this Eucalyptus tree in the West MacDonnell range in Aussie outback. You can see to the right that a recent bushfire was here. I'm a light sleeper so in the middle of the night I looked out the tent window to see a dingo walking by. When I woke in the morning there were Dingo tracks all around the tent. Dingo's love to swipe anything with leather so make sure you bring leather hats and boots inside your tent!
