Lightning, Puyallup washington

Lightning, Puyallup washington

I shot this photo about 1990. I was in a rural part of South Hill Puyallup (don't hold it against me) out in a field next to a chain link fence, with a metal tripod with a 20mm lens - all great energy conductors of course! I felt the hair on the back of my neck raise, sounds of bees were ringing in my ears. I set the self timer at 10 seconds and ran like hell. When I came back, this is what I found on my Fujichrome 50.

Opposing Spring, Autumn @ Trillium Lake.

With the flood of all the spring flowery photos flying around (which I too have contributed), I thought I would post this image as a contrast, for a balancing effect if you will. :)

Crocus Blur

This shot was a "mistake." I had my camera set up with an off camera strobe to fill in some shadows on these crocus flowers and just as I hit my remote release, my cat decided to rub up against the tripod, which ended up blurring the photograph. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise for it made a pretty cool effect I think. This image was published in Photo techniques magazine years ago.

The Crocus flower is where the expensive spice, Safron is from.

Nikon F5, Nikon SB-24, Fuji chrome Velvia.

Tulips at sunrise, Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, Oregon.

Jesse Estes and I ventured out here this morning hoping to catch a killer sunrise. We didn't quite get the show we hoped for, but I think I got an acceptable image none-the-less

Ok, so here's a shot of Galen Rowell and I back in 1994, in Eastern Oregon. In my opinion he was the best adventure, nature, color landscape photographer ever. He really was the first to bring color photographs of Yosemite to the mainstream. Personal friend of the Dalai Lama, pilot, one of the best all-time mountain/rock climbers. Heck, he even scaled Everest without oxygen for fun! The list goes on for the man who lived a thousand lives.

Abandoned school house, and autumn maple. I was shooting photos with the late, Galen Rowell, in eastern Oregon back in 1994. He was near me at the time I made this image, but did not get a shot similar to mine. He told me that this was his favorite photo of mine

The way life should be

The way life should be

Put a print of this image on your wall right in front of you when you get out of bed in the morning so you look right at it, and you will understand exactly the way life should be. Our future is in front of you, cherish it. Really, this makes the rest of your day better than it would have otherwise. Do this, not necessarily with my photo, but with one that takes you to a similar state of being. It's one of the most effective improvements to your soul (which transforms society) you can do, and yet, so many do not think of this.
